Engl 1101 - for Wednesday, Feb 18

Good work in class today. Here's the bottom line for work you should be doing and for what to bring to class on Wednesday:

1. VISIT your reference librarians and ask for their help in locating suitable "academic" resources to use for research.

2. Bring some of your research to class on Wednesday so you can work on your paper.

3. Continue to refer to the Blackboard readings for examples of how writers address the three questions (what, how, why), how they cite research in text, and how they structure their essays.

4. Use a focus statement to help you plan how you'll write paper. (See the post below with links to previous posts for an example.) You might try this format for a focus statement: "I'm going to explain (what/how/why - or whatever combination)...
First, I will ___________________.
Next, I will ___________________.
Finally, I will __________________. "

5. Remember that your peer review paper is now due in a week - Monday, Feb. 23, and the final paper is due Wednesday, February 25.

Thanks - as always write with questions or ask in class
